Two Tone Malone

Two Tone MaloneMike "Two Tone" Malone can belt the blues with the best of 'em. Kinda strange for a hulking white boy.

Malone began playing music two decades ago while serving in the military. His travels exposed him to numerous cultures, all of which were later incorporated into his music. By the 90's, Mike was working as a paramedic in South Louisiana. He found himself in great demand on the local club scene for both his solo acoustic shows and his intricate full-band concerts.

Early in 1997 Malone's work came to the attention of Binky Records and a contract followed. Mike hit the studio where he would remain for the better part of a year. With help from Louisiana musical legends like Big Luther Kent, Shannon Williford, and up-and-coming fiddle sensation Gram Rea, Malone completed Shades of Blue.

Shades of Blue garnered attention throughout south Louisiana. One of Mike's songs, No Nation Girl, borrowed its title from a book written by his grandfather. The book had been nominated for a Pulitzer and both the book and song dealt with racial issues of the South.

For the next two years Malone continued playing throughout Louisiana where he had become somewhat of a fixture in the blues clubs. Late in 1999 Two Tone Malone indulged his wanderlust and relocated to Nashville. At present Malone can be found playing anywhere and everywhere in Nashville while working toward a publishing contract.
