Myshkin,
called by Folk Roots magazine "one of the best songwriters
around", is perhaps best known for her rich alto voice, odd
melodies and vividly storied lyrics. But she proves her capabilities
as a band leader on this first Ruby Warblers record. The core trio
is supplemented on Rosebud Bullets with guitar, violin, clarinet
and piano. Her songs are as deep and spooky as ever, songs that
reach under the skin and stay there.
